This 1½-day, in-person convening will highlight how overdose fatality reviews (OFRs) are identifying and implementing recommendations to prevent substance-related deaths in communities across the country. The forum will offer a mix of general-interest plenary sessions, moderated panel discussions, breakout sessions, and informal networking.

The 2023 National Forum on Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) was designed to show communities nationwide how OFRs—confidential death reviews conducted by multidisciplinary teams to identify system gaps and improve overdose prevention and intervention strategies—have emerged as perhaps the most effective tool available to them in their efforts to reduce overdose deaths.
